Pipe Line Under The Ocean

Thanks so much to those of you who prayed for me for this latest trip to Normandy. We met with the growing network of people who are building with us for the events we are creating over there this year as we seek to establish a bridgehead for the Gospel and for the church into Northern France, the scene of a previous bridgehead of liberation in the dark days of the Second World War. Our vision is to create a platform for the Gospel of Christ in those places that carry a spiritual imprint caused by a catastrophic loss of life.

Over these first three months of 2010 we are running the PLUTO Fund appeal to raise the funds to cover the costs of creating these events and getting our Mainstage and Mobilestage ready. PLUTO or ‘Pipe Line Under The Ocean’ is a breathtaking historical account. In the wake of the D-Day Landings in 1944 the Allies faced the toughest of logistical challenges of getting millions of gallons of petrol over to the European Mainland from the south coast of England at a time when all the French ports where occupied and tankers were continually falling foul of attacks in the English Channel. Some courageous engineers were laughed out of the room as they suggested an audacious plan to sink an unbroken 100 mile long flexible fuel pipe under the sea from Shanklin on the Isle of Wight to the Cherbourg Peninsula, but it worked! It laid there undetected by the enemy until it was too late.

In one single night two cable laying merchant ships commissioned by the Royal Navy as HMS Ridley and HMS Latimer carried out the task right under the nose of the enemy. These two ships were named after the two Bishops who famously burnt at the stake in Oxford. As they died for the Gospel, Latimer shouted across to Ridley. “Be of good cheer for today by God’s grace we will light a candle in England that will never be extinguished. That inscription was welded to the hulls of those two ships and it became the war cry of the innovators and the implementers Operation PLUTO. As the liberators moved further into Europe the pipelines were extended over land and eventually crossed the Rhine into Germany itself.

With this as the backdrop we have launched the PLUTO Fund within Miracle Street to create a conduit for those who want to help us light a candle in England for the Gospel into Mainland Europe.

Back to the scene of the crime!

While up in Leeds visiting Dayspring Church, I went to the outdoor amphitheatre that was the scene of 4 huge family events we created in 1994 and 1995. I remember so clearly looking out at the crowd and realising that we had the chance to create dynamic outdoor events that could draw many people to experience the love of God and life of his church. I was already heavily involved in presenting the Gospel on the streets but the Leeds events were the start of what became Miracle Street in many ways.

This weekend in Leeds was fantastic. Ian Mayhew and I spent 24 hours with 12 of the guys and girls in their 20’s and 30’s and took them through my InsideOut training and mentoring programme. It was a great privilege to get in on the stories that God is writing in their lives and he was powerfully at work. Dayspring is a church I worked extensively with in the 1990’s and it was awesome to be back with old friends. I also visited the brilliant Kids Club that is now city wide with double decker buses collecting kids from all over Leeds. I remember being part of the discussions at the very beginning alongside Berni and Graham Fell who paid a huge price to chase the vision and have made it what it is today.

Next weekend I return again to Normandy with Tim Archer and Gary Stupple to meet with the team that is now really emerging to oversee the plans to run a Mainstage festival and two months of outreach across Normandy. We are seeking, alongside Francis and Diane Dognon, to establish once again a bridgehead in Normandy that will ultimately touch the rest of France and beyond with the Gospel. The amazing story of the PLUTO fuel line (Pipe Line Under The Ocean) is the backdrop God has given us to raise the funds and the resources we need for the job. More about that next week!

Christmas Magic on the Mainstage!

Last night was amazing! We partnered with a school and a church in Portsmouth to hold a Christmas Carol Concert with 500 children on-stage and 1500 in the crowd. Christmas is such an awesome opportunity to declare Jesus the Light of the World at a time when people are already sensitive to the message even in the midst of the commercial enterprise that surrounds the celebration of God’s intervention into human history.

As I look back on 2009, what a year we have had! We have visited many different towns and cities across the UK and in 5 other European nations. In all we have seen around 1,000 people make a response to the Gospel in the events we have been a part of as Miracle Street.

Next year is shaping up much quicker than previous years it seems with invitations and also many of our own plans already in place for 2010 in this country. We are going to focus strongly on working to establish a ‘Bridgehead’ for the Gospel in Normandy during June and July next summer alongside our close friends Francis and Diane Dognon and the church they lead, La Source in Lisieux, Normandy. We hope to successfully gain permission to hold a large Mainstage Festival on the beach in Normandy that will signal the start of our push across the region. In the New Year we will launch our appeal to help underwrite the costs of our work on the European Mainland with the amazing story of the PLUTO Pipeline being the central focus.

The Normandy Bridgehead June 2010

These last two days Tim Archer and I have been in Normandy once again formalising the plans for a significant push across the region next June and July. Last night many people gathered in Caen from different churches and towns across Normandy all excited about partnering with Miracle Street. After several years building with Francis and Diane Dognon and their church in Lisieux it seems that we are on the brink of helping to establish a ‘bridgehead’ for the Gospel in the part of France that witnessed the foothold into Europe in the dark days of occupation back in 1944.

We are going to approach the authorities in Normandy once more for permission to site the Mainstage on the sands of Sword Beach, now a packed resort in the summer, for the weekend of 5th and 6th of June. It will be the 66th anniversary of the D-Day Landings. Everyone says it will take a miracle and we will need to entirely self-fund the work, at least initially.

I have seen so many respond to the Gospel these last few weeks and we have some exciting events leading up to Christmas in Fair Oak and Portsmouth particularly with the chance to reach hundreds of people with the life-changing message of Jesus. In Portsmouth we have the Mainstage in a school with the possibility of gathering upwards of 2,000 children and families. Please pray for us, it is a wonderful opportunity.

Looking ahead, we already have invitations to 5 towns in the UK for next summer and invitations to visit other places on the European Mainland. God is good!

Big breakthrough in Madrid!

This trip to Madrid has been so powerful and memorable. From the minute I stepped foot on Spanish soil I had the feeling that God brought me here to touch many lives. We have made so many friends that will doubtless be pivotal to future partnership in this city and across the nation. The presence of God in the events I have spoken at has been among the strongest I have ever experienced. We have seen many people come to Christ for the first time, almost all of them completely new to the church. Many of them wept and wept as the love of God broke into their lives. We worked with Kilometro Cero in the Puerta Del Sol on Saturday. This is the huge plaza in the centre of Madrid that is the geographical centre point of Spain, an iconic landmark. Kilometro Cero are a ministry who preach to the crowds there six days a week, amazing! I saw some of the biggest crowds I have ever seen on the street and the hunger to hear about Jesus was massive. Some those we spoke to got on the Metro to come to the evening meeting on Saturday. We are now in discussion with leaders here in Madrid about a significant partnership in 2010. Thanks for all the prayer support for this trip, it worked!

I’m on the ferry returning from a two day trip to Normandy with some of the team having begun plans for significant evangelistic endeavours in the region in June and July 2010. Having struggled somewhat in previous years to get the plans off the ground we sensed that we are now in the timing of God for 2010. Although we have done some great stuff in Europe this year, I long to see a bridgehead established in Northern France and then seek to carry the Gospel to Berlin retracing the path of the liberation in 1944 and 1945 through Belgium and Holland. This is certainly not some kind of historical re-enactment but a spiritual journey to declare Jesus the great reconciler and healer of nations. I know that we will see a multitude come to Christ in places such as Caen and Lisieux in France and Nijmegen and Arnhem in Holland as we go to the ‘Killing Fields’ of Europe.

This week I was speaking at a youth event at the Oakwood Youth Challenge in Wokingham attended by around 120 young people. It was brilliant to see 60 to 70 of them walk over my little wooden bridge as an act of response to God’s love and the message of the cross. Please pray for the team there at Oakwood and the many young people who are taking real steps towards salvation in these days. I’m starting to prepare now for the forthcoming events in Madrid!

A moment to reflect as Madrid approaches!

When I saw the name Miracle Street in a dream in 1998 I thought it would be a banner that hung above our heads as we preached on the streets. What I didn’t know was that God was forming something in my heart that would mean the creation of a team and the acquisition of some fantastic resources. At the time we had a van load of slightly suspect magic tricks, a couple of load voices and some unusual costumes!

Over these last eleven years I have done my best to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and take the Gospel way beyond the walls of the church. We have had many successes and some failures but we've been able to present this wonderful Good News to the people and have given them the invitation from Heaven to become followers of Jesus. It has been an incredible privilege.

Along the way, we have gathered many supporters and partners like you who have stood with us in prayer, finance and encouragement and chosen to walk the journey with us. As I look back on another summer I wonder where it will take us in the next year or so. We now have a growing work into several nations in Mainland Europe as well as our many connections into towns in the UK. In a week or so I go to France for three days to lay down plans for events in Normandy in the early part of the summer next year. Two weeks after that I go to Madrid in Spain to hold a series of evangelistic meetings in the centre of the city. A few days before I go to Spain the Mainstage will be facilitating the Light Party at Jono's church, an event that reaches around 3,000 people every October 31st. Please pray for these wonderful opportunities to present the Gospel.

As many of you are aware we are facing some real financial challenges just now because of our growing overheads and a couple of aborted events. Thank you so much to those who have given, often anonymously, over the summer, it is greatly appreciated. We are still several thousand pounds short of our target for this month but I remain confident in God and in his amazing supply line!

From the Red Light District of Amsterdam

We have just got back from an exhausting and immensely rewarding weekend in Amsterdam. We had a huge impact in two of the largest estates in the city. On Saturday we set up in the park of a very large housing complex that is 60% Turkish. The needs where obvious and the response to the Gospel was very strong with many opportunities to pray with people.

Late on Saturday night we went into the heart of the red light district to carry the Gospel into that notorious stronghold of pain of darkness. I was very apprehensive of what might happen when I preached the Gospel in there but the response was overwhelming. The team were able to pray with several people including two of the working girls. The slavery, the pain and the brokenness where almost more than I could bear and I was physically sick at what I saw as I preached to hundreds of people without a microphone in full view of the ‘shop windows’. It's a far cry from the middle class niceties of my life and an immense challenge to drive on with this vision.

Yesterday we ran a 6 hour event in the Muslim area of Amsterdam and again we were met with heart-breaking need but tremendous openness to the Gospel. We fed the community with a Halal barbecue out of respect for their customs during Ramadan and this was also greatly appreciated.

I'm sure Amsterdam will be a central part of the future as we push into the Mainland of Europe. Thank you so much for the support in so many ways. We need you!

Amsterdam, Bridgend and Christmas!

Amsterdam is only a few days away and we have heard that the authorities have revoked the permission for the Mainstage to enter the Netherland due to a technicality over the height of the trailer even though we drove through that country enroute to Germany in July! It seems we face constant battles to breakthrough on the Mainland but invariably we win through. I'm confident that will be the case here too but we need you to pray for us. Many churches and organisations are partnering with us across the city so the stakes are high but the opportunity for the Gospel is massive.

Jono and Josh have just returned from Bridgend in Wales with the Mobilestage and had a great time building with Bridge Community Church on the Windmill estate. Please pray for the church and contacts that have been made there. This is the second year the guys have been in Bridgend and, like many other towns, a real partnership is emerging between Miracle Street, the local church and the wider community.

We are beginning to plan and take booking for the Mobilestage Christmas tour that will see us in the shopping precincts and High Streets of many towns. It is a huge opportunity to connect with crowds of shoppers at a time when they are already sensitised to issues around faith and Jesus. We have piloted this project over the last two years are this is the first time we are embarking on a national tour. The momentum continues!

We walked into a ripe harvest field in Germany and left nearly 600 people being followed up by the churches in the cities that the Summer 2 Go programme visited in 10 days, 6 of those days with the Mainstage programme as the centrepiece. Things have continued to be incredibly fruitful back here in the UK. Jono, Josh and Emma led the team to the Isle of Wight and continued to build with our friends in Newport while the rest of us were in Germany. Last week I was in Sidcup, SE London for the awesome Lark in the Park Festival that I've been a part of for 13 years. Several people came to Christ while I was there and the event has been as successful as ever with many thousands on site in different venues for all ages over a two week period. This week it has all moved on to Ramsgate in Kent and I'm going up there on Saturday to be a part of the main events over the weekend. It was moving to be back in the Bandwagon after two years and reconnect with the old trailers that we imported from Canada 8 years ago, seems like yesterday! The Bandwagon now serves to facilitate Lark In The Park each year as a reflection of our partnership with the Sidcup and Ramsgate churches.

In three weeks time Jono leads a team to Bridgend in Wales and I leave again for Mainland Europe with the Mainstage to run a huge festival in the centre of Amsterdam’s Dam Square and the red light district. In both locations we will be working with the poor and marginalised. In Bridgend the team will be on one of the estates and in Amsterdam we will be in partnership with several organisations including YWAM, Youth Alive and No Limit. Please continue to stand with us in prayer as I know so many of you have done these last few weeks. We believe for breakthroughs in Wales and Holland as we present the Gospel in different ways. My friend Sarah Rowlinson prophesied over me a few weeks ago that we would rescue girls from brothels across Europe, maybe this will be the start of it in Amsterdam?

On a practical note, our finances remain very tight with the bills increasing so dramatically with our work now growing in size and impact. Please stand with us as we believe God to meet our needs from him limitless supply.

Hundreds come to Christ in Germany!

I don't know where to start!? We have seen so many people come to Christ here in Stuttgart and as the Summer 2 Go team have been through Hannover and Leipzig this week. One homeless guy was asking God to help him 2 hours before the team arrived and prayed with him. Last night he was on the Mainstage talking to the crowd about Jesus! A man just out of prison for murder gave his life to Jesus saying he has searched for God for 6 years. I prayed for a guy who has a car accident and damaged his diaphragm. He said he could feel the power of something affecting him! The sheer size of the crowds and numbers coming to Christ from all ages, races and backgrounds more than justifies the decision to come all this way with the Mainstage. The team of 180 young people working alongside us are magnificent, they are so motivated and full of the Holy Spirit for their nation, it makes my job easy!! Please pray for what is happening here in Stuttgart. Jono and the Parklife team are on the Isle of Wight this weekend please pray for them too as they seek to touch that community with this message of the Kingdom that we carry.

The Mainstage has made it safely to Germany via, France, Belgium and Holland. We have seen people coming to Christ at the Mainstage events in the huge Stadt Park and also at the famous fish market where thousands gathered this morning and we preached to crowds of several hundred, amazing scenes! I was heckled by the Neo Nazis! Please pray for us as we complete the events here ahead of a 500 mile journey through Germany to Stuttgart in he south on Thursday. We need you!! This last week we have helped churches in Salisbury and New Milton to connect with their local communities through Family Fundays. It was great to be with Josh and Emma and the guys who usually work alongside Jono to deliver this vital part of Miracle Street’s work. Jono is off at the moment as he and Helen have just had their third child. At New Milton I used my famous old guillotine to present the Gospel through the story of Louis XVI King of France, Dick Turpin King of Robbers and Jesus King of the Jews. Ironically, all three died at aged 33 in a major world city before a public audience. Two were guilty but one was innocent!

On Friday we leave with the Mainstage for Germany ahead of big events in Hamburg and Stuttgart. It is a very special moment for us as my dream to run events across Europe begins. We are short on budget to the tune of around £2,500 and we have many logistical challenges ahead of us in the next two weeks or so. Please pray for us in all these areas but most of all that many people to respond to the Gospel across Germany. While I am away with the Mainstage team, Jono, Josh and Emma will be running the Mobilestage weekend on the Isle of Wight, please pray for this vital series of events as well.

English towns and German cities!

Thank you so much for all the prayer support at this time as we seek to break into Mainland Europe whilst continuing to see fruit for the Gospel in the UK. Last Thursday I was with my close friend Francis Dognon in Paris to meet with the leadership committee of the Baptist Federation of France of which he is a member. We discussed working together next year for their two week national evangelistic campaign. We hope to hold events in Paris, Lille and Normandy. Closer to home we are working alongside churches in Salisbury and New Milton over the next two weeks to reach their communities with the love of God, please pray for us.

On July 16th the Mainstage leaves Dover for Dunkirk ahead of big events planned in Hamburg and Stuttgart. We are thrilled to be going and believing for a great harvest in these two huge cities. We are working alongside Werner Nachtigal and No Limit, a German evangelistic ministry based in Berlin. It is the long awaited first visit to Mainland Europe with the Mainstage and it feels like an historic moment for me and the team. Please pray for the budget and particularly that the interpretation of what I say gets across to the people. Despite the favour and opportunities, I feel nervous on days as we commit such a high level of resource to places where we are totally unknown. Please join with us in prayer as we seek to be faithful to the call of God on our lives to declare and demonstrate this great message of reconciliation and new life in Jesus.

Storms in the Channel!

Over the last couple of weeks we have sailed into a storm of problems with several of our panned events in the Mainland of Europe falling through. We are now staring at closed doors into Brussels, Hamburg and Berlin. It seems that every kind of hitch has occurred including, local permission, budget shortfalls and local church conflict. It was particularly difficult to have the Brussels Festival cancelled with only a couple weeks to go. It has led me to wonder whether we are moving too fast and that we need more time to establish the partnerships in the Gospel in these key cities. Three weeks ago I sensed the Lord say to me that we would engage in ‘Pathfinder’ missions ahead of the Mainstage Tour.

A week ago last Saturday I was on the Normandy Beaches with a group French and English friends to pray on the 65thanniversary of the D-Day Landings. It was the event in 1944 that became known as the ‘Turning Point’ and the beginning of the battle that brought the curtain down on the most horrific conflict of all time. As I allowed the sand of Sword Beach to run through my fingers the Lord clarified again the call on us to take the Gospel to the ‘Killing Fields’ of Europe. I feel that some of this redirection we are going through is to focus us sharply on France as the beginning of this journey.

Next week I am going to Paris with my friend Francis Dognon to present the vision of Miracle Street to the leadership of the Baptist Federation of France. They want to explore partnering with us for a three week national evangelistic programme ending on the June 6th 2010. Please pray for me as I speak to the committee in Paris on Thursday 25th June.

It was fantastic to purchase the new Mainstage tractor unit last week with the £10,000 that has been so generously donated for that reason. It has all the whistles and bells that were sadly missing off the old one! And it does a remarkable 11 miles to the gallon!! Finally, with the cancellation of some of our big events at short notice we are in a difficult situation financially that we need the Lord to come through for us in, please pray for that also.

Normandy, Brussels and 15,000 in the UK!

This Saturday a group of us will be on the Normandy Beaches on the 65th anniversary of the D-Day Landings that ushered in the liberation of Europe and the end of WWII. Having been refused permission for the Mainstage, we are going to pray with some of our French friends and ask God to establish a 'bridgehead' for us there on the sands where the Marines came ashore all those years ago. It will be a very important moment for me personally ahead of our first event in Europe, a three day tour of Brussels in a couple of weeks time. We are also at the start of UK summer programme with Simon Thomas running an event in his home church with the Mobilestage and several other keys dates approaching fast.

Last weekend the Mainstage was the youth stage at the BigChurchDayOut in West Sussex where 15,000 people gathered in the sunshine. I was on the main festival stage speaking to the vast crowd for a few minutes at the start of the event. I found myself asking God for crowds of that size who were not Christians coming to Miracle Street events across the UK and Europe in the coming months and years. I believe it will happen.

We are about to buy the new tractor unit for the Mainstage with the money that was so faithfully given to us having had a loan unit for last weekend's event. Thank you again for those who sowed into this soil for us. Budgets remain huge and very ambitious but miraculously on target, please continue to give if and when you can, it will be money well spent on reaching men and women and boys and girls for the Kingdom of Heaven. 150 plus respond the Gospel!

This last weekend I was the speaker at a large evangelistic festival in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. On Saturday night I hosted a gigantic quiz night with 51 teams, brilliant fun! On Sunday many of the local churches suspended their normal services and we had over 1,000 in the tent. We had an absolute blast and I spoke on the Prodigal Son and around 150 people responded from all kinds of backgrounds and ages. The event closed with a live concert from the sensational London Community Gospel Choir to standing room only, an estimated crowd of 1,200! Again I spoke at the end and many people came to the front. It was a brilliantly organised and run event and so exciting to play a part in it.

Impossible dreams for Spain

Last Friday I was up for 21 hours in order to go to Madrid and back in one day. It was a great privilege to spend time with Juan Carlos Escobar, his wife Fiona and the other leaders from the church there. Juan Carlos is the President of the Pentecostal movement across Spain and we really connected as we discussed possibilities for the Mainstage to go to Madrid in September and then possibly Alicante on the Mediterranean coast in October. It was brilliant to visit a number of potential sites in Madrid including the coach park outside Real Madrid FC's massive Bernabau Stadium. Please continue to pray as these unbelievable plans for Europe develop. Next week Jono and I are involved in a major two day evangelsitic event across Hemel Hempstead in Hertforfshire with around 20 churches, please pray for that too. Financial targets are huge now although miraculously we are broadly on target at the time of writing this. We owe so much to the many people are are generously and and sacrificially supporting Miracle Street and dreaming the dream with us, we need you!

It was so good to be up in Bracknell over the weekend to speak at the Eternity youth congregation and then run InsideOut in the 11th century church in Warfield. Last week I was in Berlin and next week I visit some leaders in Madrid in Spain. We have a problem in Berlin due to the weight of the Mainstage, please pray! I'm still holding out for the opportunity to run an event on the Normandy Beaches on June 6th on the 65th anniversary of the D-Day Landings. It will be an historic moment if we make it and an awesome start to this ambitious plan to take see a breakthrough in Europe for the Gospel. Please pray for this too. Over the last few months I have personally visited many cities on the European Mainland and have been continually impacted by the need for the re-evangelisation of this vast spiritual wasteland. Europe was the cradle of world mission but it is now the forgotten harvest field. I’m responding to this awesome challenge by committing the resources of Miracle Street to this harvest field in a few weeks time.

Several years ago the Lord spoke to me through the story of Operation PLUTO (Pipeline Under The Ocean) in World War Two. It was a dangerously audacious but highly successful plan to sink a 100 mile long flexible petrol pipe under the English Channel to fuel the Allied effort to liberate Europe in 1944. The two ships that laid the pipeline in one night were named after Bishop Latimer and Bishop Ridley who burnt at the stake in Oxford in 1555. As they died for their faith in Christ, Latimer shouted over to Ridley “Today by God’s grace we will light a candle in England that will never be extinguished!” This graphic picture has become the prophetic mandate for us to raise the funds we need to pump into Mainland Europe for a mighty push forward for the Gospel with our giant portable Mainstage blazing a trail from city to city.

I feel like I am staring in the face of the greatest opportunity of my ministry, bigger than all the others put together, to take Miracle Street to the cities of Europe to hold monthly evangelistic festivals. In the last three months we have received invitations to Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Nuremberg and Vienna. As I write this we are in conversations about France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Sweden and Eastern Europe. In all of these locations we have the potential to reach many thousands of people for Christ. Sometimes I have wondered whether insanity was taking hold of me to even attempt this but the wind of God on my back is impossible to ignore. God loves cities!

The other day I stood on the beach and remembered the first day God called me as an evangelist. I imagined the Gospel going out across the sea to the ends of the earth. Many will know of my deep roots in the history of the liberation of Europe in 1944. The openings we are getting are in many ways following the timeline and the road map of what happened all those years ago. Could it be that God will do something new but with echoes of the past? Yesterday I was in Amsterdam to discuss a major event in Dam Square and progress was also made for several other locations. I take great comfort as we look at the enormity of the task that this is the work of God and it his plan, his Mainstage and his people we are just serving him in taking the message to the people. Thanks for all the support that so many are giving me at this time.

Brussels, Italy, Greece & Spain

Yesterday I was in Brussels to meet with Daniel Costanza one of the leaders of the Pentecostal European Fellowship an organisation that works with the networks linking over 2 million Pentecostal Christians across the Mainland of Europe. It was yet another extraordinary connection that was completely God-inspired. We were able to confirm dates for a Mainstage Festival in Brussels, the political hub of Europe, but also discuss linkages into Italy, Greece and Spain through Daniel's networks. It creates the possibility for us to continue well into the autumn and winter months in these warmer regions of Europe. The many trips I am making into Europe will facilitate large Festivals that will reach many thousands of people, of that I'm sure. Closer to home I am beginning plans for a week long Festival in our home church at Central Hall, Southampton. It is the scene of many great in-gatherings in the past! I'm also visiting many churches at the moment to speak, Rayleigh in Essex and also St Toms in Fair Oak this Sunday. More soon!

The door swings off its hinges

Last year I prayed for the door to open into Mainland Europe and the last couple of weeks it feels like it has swung off its hinges! I was unable to travel to Africa this week due to a problem I have had with my back since the New Year. First Class on British Airways and the Marriott Hotel may have been OK but nine hours on Kenya Airways Economy well have finished me off! I took the opportunity to visit Normandy for two days with day crossings that gave me valuable space to seek God for this year and do some preparation. We visited a site in Ouistreham, the port town near Caen, where I think we will launch the work of the Mainstage in Europe on the 65th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings. The site is 100 metres from the British Beachhead. In two weeks time I go to Brussels for the day to meet with one of the guys from the Pentecostal European head office who wants to talk about partnership. We also heard that the Baptist Union of France are interested in linking up with us in 2010. We are in serious discussions about taking the Mainstage to seven cities in four different nations in 2009. In a couple of week’s time we are launching our appeal to raise the £60 to £70,000 that we will need this year in additional to our regular donations to make these plans a reality. Please continue to pray for me as these exciting plans to take the Gospel to the cities of Europe unfold.

Mainstage Festivals in 5 European cities

Yesterday I was in Berlin for the second time in four weeks to spend the day with Werner Nachtigal who leads No Limit a powerful evangelisitc ministry that reaches across Germany, Europe an other parts of the world. Through this growing partnership we are laying down plans together to run Mainstage Festivals in Berlin, Hamburg and Stuttgart as part of No Limit's Summer2Go event that draws hundreds of Christian young people together from across Germany to present the Gospel on the streets. We are also looking at possibilities together in Nuremberg, Vienna and Amsterdam. Normandy remains the key focus for the launch of the Mainstage in Europe and several possibilities exist for June and July.

In the next few weeks we will be launching our annual appeal that many faithfully gave into last year to refit the Mainstage and Mobilestage. 2009's appeal will be focused on Mainland Europe and our plan to reach many thousands of people in several of Europe's biggest cites.

Christmas on the streets

It's been exhilarating to be on the streets declaring the Gospel this week. People were incredibly open this year as the credit crunch bites hard. So many have been willing to stand in the cold listening to us talk about Jesus, the Hope of the whole World! Today in Southampton was brilliant. We were 20 feet from where Miracle Street started all those years ago with my dodgy tricks and few crazy mates! We're still pressing in for breakthrough. I want to say thank you so much for standing with me this year in prayer and financially as we have reach over 30 towns and seen over 30,000 people. 2009 is the launch of Turning Point across Mainland Europe and a lot of opportunities in the UK too.
