The height of summer
We are surrounded by life and activity right now, despite the weather being rather unsuitable for outdoor events! The annual Refresh in the Park festival in Molesey, SW London, went really well with the site full of people as always. Jono and Josh were involved fronting a lot of the events, seeing many children respond to Jesus in different ways. Last week the Miracle Street core team were together for two days to dream, plan and pray as we sense again that we are at a crucial stage in the development of the work. I seem to have been talking about transition now for a number of years, I do wonder at times whether we will ever transition out of transition?! Needless to say a number of things emerged during our time together that will undoubtedly shape the direction of Miracle Street. I am eager to push on with God’s help to face the challenges of the national Hope 2008 campaign and seek to align ourselves with this opportunity. In September and October we are set to carry out a £15,000 refit of the Mainstage that will address crucial maintenance issues and replace the canopy structure. This will be a step of faith without the funds being in place at this stage. Kelvin and Holly are considering new locations for the Bus as the partnership with the Police grows ever stronger and more people get involved. Our partnership with World Vision UK to deliver the School Aid Roadshow programme nationally continues to flourish. We are looking a number of ways of using the Mainstage alongside this tremendous resource into schools to run a series of benefit concerts to raise funds for the construction of schools in the developing world. Thanks for all your support as always. Steve Lee
