Yesterday I was at the head office of World Vision in Milton Keynes to tie up the details of a major national schools roadshow project called School Aid that Miracle Street are project managing for them. The plan is to take their brilliant exhibition trailer around the schools regionally and nationally over this next year to raise awareness among children and young people of what it is like to go to school in developing countries. Fuller details in the Spring Update in a couple of week’s time. Things continue to progress well for the summer events schedule and we are encouraged to see continued growth across the whole work of Miracle Street.
Kelvin met today with the Chief Inspector of Police at the Central Southampton HQ to review the work of the Miracle Street Red Bus across the city. We have secured Police funding for another 6 months to enable the work on the Mansbridge estate to continue to grow. They are incredibly supportive of Kelvin and the team and the work that is taking place among vulnerable young people in several locations citywide. The Bus is nearly 30 years old and although it is still rolling we are only too aware of the need to replace it with a more modern vehicle but the purchase and conversion costs are high. Jono in working with a number of churches to plan the events we are running with the Mainstage and Mobilestage during the summer. Events are already confirmed in 6 locations with others in the pipeline. I am continuing to develop my role alongside Billy Kennedy in the strategic development of New Community Church with responsibility for Operations. Miracle Street is a key part of the alloy that God is blending together as this big church transitions into a new place. Please pray for Miracle Street, the team and the resources that we would be determined in all we do yet flexibility to the voice of God. Thanks again to all of you who faithfully support us in prayer and finance to make all of this possible. Steve Lee
